The student attendance recording process at Sabilina Private Junior High School is still conducted manually using attendance books, which can cause delays in data recapitulation, recording errors, and difficulties in searching and managing attendance data. This research aims to design and develop a web-based student attendance application for Sabilina Private Junior High School to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of attendance recording and data management. The system development method used in this research is the Waterfall method, while data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The application is designed using HTML for the interface structure, PHP as the programming language, and MySQL as the database, with QR Code technology utilized as a medium for recording student attendance. The system provides several main features, including user login, student data management, teacher and class data management, QR Code generation, attendance recording, attendance history, monitoring, and attendance reports. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method on the main functions of the application. The test results show that all tested functions operate according to the designed requirements. The implementation of this application enables attendance recording and management to be carried out in a more structured manner, facilitates teachers in monitoring and recapitulating attendance data, and reduces the risk of recording errors and data loss compared to the previous manual attendance system.
