Counts differ because each database indexes a different set of publications. We treat OpenAlex as the canonical count; Google Scholar is not shown (no API, and crawling it violates its ToS).
Autoregressive language models typically generate text sequentially, with later tokens conditioned on preceding tokens. Although this approach supports fluent language generation, committing to an early sequence may constrain the discovery, selection, and organization of distinctive ideas in long-form text. Existing research has investigated content planning, sentence permutation, diverse generation, and hierarchical text generation. However, the relationship between uniqueness-driven paragraph selection and subsequent global paragraph ordering warrants further investigation. This paper proposes Uniqueness-First Paragraph Generation and Global Reordering (UFP-GR), a framework in which candidate paragraphs are generated and evaluated according to their distinctive informational and semantic contributions before being organized into a coherent document. The framework consists of candidate paragraph generation, multidimensional uniqueness estimation, diversity-aware selection, global ordering, connective generation, and document-level refinement. A constrained optimization objective balances distinctiveness, relevance, factuality, coherence, redundancy, and computational cost. Importantly, the framework does not assume that the most distinctive paragraphs should always occupy the opening positions of the final document. Instead, it distinguishes the order in which content is discovered from the order in which it is presented. This separation creates a testable alternative to conventional left-to-right document construction. The paper formalizes the framework, proposes a practical implementation, identifies research questions, and develops an experimental protocol for evaluating its effectiveness. As this is a conceptual framework, its empirical advantages remain to be established through controlled experiments.
