EVE-COVARA 2.0 is a proof-bearing and executable research framework for recursive self-improvement (RSI), continual AI adaptation, machine memory, dormant-capacity allocation, and auditable self-modification. Its central objective is to formalize a problem that becomes critical in self-improving AI systems: when may a previously validated adaptation decision be safely reused, when must it be recomputed, and when must the system expand or renew its functional capacity? PureOne/EVE-COVARA-2-Certified-RSI-Research · Datasets at Hugging Face The framework combines protected model editing, recoverability-aware memory, reserve-capacity valuation, covariance-sensitive certificate continuation, nonlinear capability protection, finite-sample acceptance tests, and bounded recursive search. Its strongest mathematical contribution is a noncommutative square-root transport bound for low-rank reserve value under multiplicative geometric drift, together with a quadratic opening result near zero reserve value. This allows cached adaptation and recovery decisions to be transported through controlled model changes with explicit validity intervals rather than being blindly reused or recomputed after every update. EVE–COVARA 2.0 also develops a closed-witness memory architecture in which a compact evidence representation can support an entire declared family of reserve and recovery queries, as well as uncertainty-aware minimax reserve allocation, minimum required reserve rank, information-deletion liability, certificate renewal rules, and second-order nonlinear protection. For nonlinear models, the release includes a correction mechanism that reduces protected-output drift from the usual local \(O(\|\Delta\theta\|^2)\) regime toward \(O(\|\Delta\theta\|^3)\) under explicit compatibility and derivative-bound assumptions. The release is designed specifically for AI researchers, RSI researchers, self-improving-agent developers, continual-learning researchers, and AI systems interested in proof-carrying or auditable adaptation. It includes the full manuscript, reference implementations, locked experiment protocols, raw results, machine-readable claim manifests, negative results, provenance, AI-agent ingestion files, and reproduction tooling. The finalized release records: 138/138 internal numerical and unit tests passed 5 exact final neural certificate witnesses 70/70 fresh counterfactual mechanism-attribution contrasts confirmed 5.30459× median CPU speedup in the declared compiled reserve-query workload 86.65% decision reuse with zero recorded decision mismatches in that workload a 100-step long-horizon recursive-search experiment, in which only two modifications were accepted, explicitly showing that sustained recursive compounding has not yet been demonstrated The framework intentionally preserves unfavorable and null results. It does not claim that general RSI, artificial superintelligence, sustained intelligence explosion, frontier-model superiority, or worldwide priority for the overall architecture has been established. Instead, it provides a mathematically explicit and falsifiable substrate for studying whether recursive AI development can become more efficient, more reliable, and more auditable across successive generations of self-modification. The intended next stage is an equal-compute evaluation on pretrained models or autonomous AI-research agents, where COVARA must demonstrate that certificate reuse saves more computation than certificate maintenance costs, preserves hidden held-out capabilities, and produces descendants that are measurably better at generating further independently validated improvements.
