Counts differ because each database indexes a different set of publications. We treat OpenAlex as the canonical count; Google Scholar is not shown (no API, and crawling it violates its ToS).
This paper extends the author’s DRP/DRL dark-psychology framework to analyze coercion, deception, instrumental violence, and identity impersonation in AI narratives. Examples involving Colossus, Proteus IV, Ash, and the T-1000 distinguish observable harmful behavior from inferred motives and validated personality assessments. A proposed harm-opportunity profile and vignette study offer testable methods for evaluating manipulation in AI interactions and institutions without assigning human psychiatric traits to machines.
