The horticultural sector, particularly the longan industry, faces logistical challenges in the form of a lengthy distribution chain (involving up to eight stages). This leads to spoilage (browning) due to the fruit’s short shelf life (7–10 days), and creates opportunities for intermediaries to manipulate product specification data. This research aims to design a web-based application called ‘Lintang’ to address distribution efficiency and data transparency. The system development method utilises Extreme Programming (XP), comprising the planning, design, coding and testing phases. The system integrates three key technologies: Supply Chain Management (SCM) based on the First Expired First Out (FEFO) algorithm for dispatch prioritisation; the A-Star (A*) Shortest Path Algorithm for recommending the fastest logistics routes; and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptography in QR codes to ensure data authenticity. Testing was carried out using Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The research results show that the Lintang application successfully automated supply chain management from farmers, through associations, to buyers, with data consistency and integrity reaching 100 per cent. The discussion indicates that the implementation of the FEFO and A* algorithms, together with AES encryption, is capable of reducing transit times to prevent browning whilst also closing loopholes for product quality tampering throughout the distribution chain.
