From Control to Symbiosis: Toward an Orientation of Advanced Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Technological Infrastructures Toward the Living World

English-language version of the French essay "Du contrôle à la symbiose" (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.22946895). This essay examines how advanced computing infrastructures, artificial intelligence and related technologies can be oriented toward the preservation of the living world, human autonomy, shareable knowledge and intergenerational sustainability. It proposes the Symbiotic Living Orientation (SLO), a normative framework that evaluates an infrastructure not only by its performance but also by its capacity to generate compatible benefits for humans, technical systems and ecosystems. The text explicitly distinguishes documented facts, correlations, hypotheses and argued theses, and advocates pluralistic, auditable and revisable governance for high-capacity technologies.
