A Global Charter for Artificial Intelligence proposes 42 Articles for governing AI in the interests of humanity. It offers an international framework to protect human dignity and rights, preserve meaningful human control, promote accountability and ensure that AI’s benefits are shared safely, fairly and sustainably. 'A Global Charter for Artificial Intelligence' is essentially a model international instrument for ensuring safe, equitable and human-centred artificial intelligence. In other words, this charter would help ensure that humans and humanity must remain the author of their own future and destiny. This is an independent model text prepared for international consideration. It is not an official United Nations document and has not been adopted, endorsed or negotiated by the United Nations or its Member States.
