Counts differ because each database indexes a different set of publications. We treat OpenAlex as the canonical count; Google Scholar is not shown (no API, and crawling it violates its ToS).
A 20-part archival series of research surveys on natural language processing, written between 2015 and 2018 and released publicly for the first time in 2026. Each part addresses a distinct area of NLP, from phonology and morphology through to methods, meaning and machine understanding, and surveys the computational and linguistic approaches current to that period. The series is published as an archival record of independent research conducted prior to 2018; it has not been updated to reflect developments since that date. Individual parts are collected below. Research undertaken 2015-2018 during independent consulting practice in natural language processing and applied linguistics.
